Who: I am a queer, trans, complex trauma survivor who is committed to her own healing and growth, and I am humbled every day to get to work, as an IFS therapist, with other trauma survivors and/or queer folx that are doing the same.

What:

Professional Counselor licensed in Maryland (#LC12394), Virginia (#0701011435), and DC (#PRC200001455) specializing in complex trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, and spiritual/religious issues

Internal Family Systems therapist, with formal IFS-institute-provided Level 1 training completed in March 2021, and experience serving as a Program Assistant for multiple other Level 1 trainings

Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC), via the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) ID# 1139624

Professional Member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Maryland Counseling Association (MCA), the Maryland Association for Spiritual, Ethical, & Religious Values In Counseling (MASERVIC), and the Maryland division of the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE-MD).

How: I prioritize collaboration and consent, while providing my clients with guidance and accompaniment, supplemented by psychoeducation and genuine, warm, care.  As you’ll see below, my first career was in ministry and education. I was a bit of a liberal firebrand within the Catholic church serving mostly in a high school setting, before I switched careers into mental health counseling and came out as trans/queer.  Although I still identify as spiritual, I no longer identify as Catholic or otherwise religious.  Nevertheless, I’ve noticed that every day that I work as a therapist, I use strengths and insights from the decade I spent as a teacher, mentor, program developer, and lay minister, which inform the values bolded above.
